Genting Highlands

Most of us would associate Genting Highlands, some 50 min ride from KL with theme parks and casino. GH is some 6000ft above sea level. Naturally, weather wise is very cool. I normally would casually ride up to GH on Sunday mornings for breakfast at Awana (that's 1/2 way up) and then hot coffee at the outdoor cafe at the peak with my bike parked next to table.

There are plenty of things to explore other than the commercial stuffs.

I would normally take the route from KL to Hulu Yam and from Hulu Yam to Gohtong Jaya / Awana. It is longer but the back road crosses kampungs, scenic lake and best of all less traffic. Would post more pics next time around.

Lake/Dam before Hulu Yam

Usually Traffic Free. Heaven for biking

Buddha Statue at the Chinese Temple between Awana and Genting Highlands

Pagoda at temple with evening sun streaking through. The Temple was built by Genting Highlands' owner and founder

The Temple. Chinese are superstitious lot. Some would seek prayers at temple before proceeding to the casino. The hardcore gamblers  would try to avoid it
