Cameron Highlands
Cool Gateaway

Cameron Highlands is located in the state of Pahang, some 205 km from KL. That's about 160 km of tolled road and rest pretty much 'pig-trail' up some 1400m above sea level. We recorded temperature around 26C midday and cool 16C at 6am.  Plenty of budget accommodations and reasonable local / continental food selections. My fav is a economy Chinese food stall located in Tanah Rata (same row as the Malay food stalls overlooking Cool Point Hotel). They serve anything from simple fried rice to steaks. I love their iced lemon tea.  We stayed at a budget hotel for RM68 a night. Saturdays are the Pasar Malam nights where the locals (plus some enterprising non-locals) sell anything from fresh vegs, fruits, flowers to children toys to designer watches, clothing. However, the town is pretty much quiet after 9:00 pm save for some karaoke blasting mainly chinese old hits.
