Frasier Hill Breakfast Ride
23 Jan 2011 |
|
This got to be Mohan's absolute ride route. here we go again. Sam joins in together with Bin and myself and we plan to knock ourselves silly all over again. Ivan pulls out as he needs to be around with his family to arrange post-funeral prayers for his mom. Meanwhile, poor Chee Leong is called back to the factory to resolve some hiccups in productions. The day starts brightly with no hint of rain whatsoever which allows us to ride fast.
We arrive at Gap in time to ascend the ride up to Frasier Hill. I cannot remember when is the last time the air is that cool. Yes, it is refreshing to ride amidst cool mountain air. Another plus point to have Mohan around is that we get good drinks at unbelievable inflation busting prices. Pak at the nasi lemak stall would not charge his 'god-son' more than RM1 a pop for any drink. Yup, it could be Nescafe, teh-tarik, kopi-O or anything, he would flat out at RM1 per any cup. Same goes to nasi lemak. No added charge for 'tambah' nasi. Life is good for Mohan at Frasier. He feels very much at home at the stall.
We have a good time munching our nasi lemak breakfast and sipping coffee and tea. Unfortunately, we have to cut short our Basgters' style of 'lepak' to make the ride back to Gap. The single direction traffic alternates every other hour and if we choose to wait out, we may get ourselves intoxicated with too much coffee
Sam is in his usual element, fast. Mohan is already in his own league as he knows the bends, curves and even pot-holes well. Bin's riding skills improves tremendously over the year he been riding with us. Myself? Same of self, rides like a tortoise
