We
were shock when we arrived at the wan-tan-mee shop at Kampung Ti Ti (Kong),
it was completely demolished. A good neighbor was quick to re-direct us to
the new shop about 300m away. Apparently the owner decided to rebuild the
old wooden shop house. We managed to find the new shop without any modern
road-directing gadget. Afterall, Titi Kong is a small sleepy predominately
Chinese settlement with little change to the landscapes over the years. The
town is tucked in a
valley, surrounded by forested hills. Although it is accessible from two
main directions, the little town is relatively free of any activity. Perhaps
the dizzying winding roads one needs to take are the main factor preventing
weekend holiday makers from making stop overs.
On the plus side, the road from Ulu Langat covers
some 40 odd km over superb winding bends with lush secondary jungle acting
as buffer to the tropical heat making it as one of the best weekend
motorcycling routes. Unfortunately, it rained very heavily the night before
causing a few land-slips and felled trees laying on the road. I wanted
to ride my Zed (afterall, it was the motogp weekend at Sepang) to inject
some pre-race adrenaline rush before going home to watch the much
anticipated race over tv. Switching to the Beemer with abs and traction
control proved to be a wise decision. The road, still damp from the rain,
was a tad slippery for any brisk riding.

Thankfully,
the wantan mee was superbly delicious. We had two rounds of coffee and tea
before heading back to our bikes. The mid morning air was slowly heating up
and we anticipated the road would be drier for a little serious riding.
The road was indeed much drier
and with the usual dirt washed off by the rain, we had a ball riding home.
And yes, Rossi retained his
MotoGP crown. I simply could not imagine MotoGP without him. Hail No 46 'Old
Chicken'
