             BMW Malaysia with Israq Adventure hosted the (1st?) Motorrad Day in Malaysia in conjunction with October Fest

The venue at Goh Tong Jaya was perfect as average temperature was cool enough for a all day event without feeling the heat. The theme was enduro with the GS series taking center stage. However, the 'enduro' only theme put off a lot of other non-GS  Motorrad owners. A general Motorrad get-together would have attracted more owners to the meet.  Enough said, the meet was a good effort with plenty of enduro related activities from theoretical lessons to hands-on on riding a enduro bike on dirt. The foul weather put dumped a fair amount of water making the dirt muddy which was perfect for  enduro-riding. Hats off to the organiser for creating a make-shift track with mini jumps and water pool which completed the overall enduro atmosphere. Free flow drinks courtesy of BMW Malaysia made the day. As the event was spread through-out the weekend, everyone was given a chance to sample the BMW demo bikes namely a R1200GS, a F800Gs, a F650Gs plus a G650Xcountry

  The Bagsters were there on Friday and Saturday. Though the event cum gathering started on Friday, there was'nt much of a activities saved for the demo bikes on site for trying out on dirt 'roads.'  I personally felt it would be more appropriate to have an official motorrad convoy ride to GohTong Jaya from somewhere say from the official service center in Glenmarie in Shah Alam to give some air of participation to the event. Maybe next time should BMW Motorrad decided to do the event again. 

 The dodgy weather on Saturday morning marooned us at Shell station for a good 1 hour. On the plus side, the foul weather did justice to the make-shirt track making the place muddy thus a good testing cum training ground for enduro motobiking. Then again, my usual squeaky clean GS needed a good hose after the event. Rashid and Ezam took the opportunity to sample the bikes and dropping the bigger GS in the process. Cool

We knocked off to Ezam's house for a makan just after noon as the day progressed on a little boring and monotonous to some extent. Overall, despite some short comings, the official BMW Motorrad event was a good avenue to get the owners to meet up. It was cool to see dozens of GS parked at the parking bays. Please do the Motorrad day again in 2010 but include the rest of the guys .. the more the merrier
