Sunday Ride, Genting Highlands

18 Oct 2009

Deng and Mimi finally tied the knots on Saturday. Before that, we were beginning to wonder when the love-bats would take the plunge. Many of us love motorcyles. I think Deng is a lucky sod to find a very pretty soul-mate who shares the same passion about all things motorcycles.  That would sort of guarantee a never expired visa for the open road on motorcycle. Again, congratulations to the couple.

Somehow, it was a quiet Sunday. Perhaps MotoGP at Phillip Island was on at noon and most would not be able to dart back home to watch should they ride.

Through Ivan, 1st timer Danny on a Kawasaki 250R and his pal, Shaun joined the us for the ride to Genting for breakfast. Everyone would wish he has a dad like Danny's.  Danny received his baby Ninja as a present from his dad. I would be very happy to ride a kapchai at his age. Like so many good things, the ride began smoothly with Ivan taking the lead to Batu Caves. As usual, I was the last to start the bike after taking  shots of the last leaving the gas station. Along the way, we over-took the two as they were riding way too cautiously.  Not knowing how fast the new guys could ride, Ivan coasted slowly to Ulu Yam with me following closely behind. It was Danny's first taste of the sweeping bends of Ulu Yam and I bet he would be back for a lot more.

Later in the morning, we had our usual breakfast sets from Coffee Bean while grazing at bikers slowly jamming up the hotel's lobby drive through. The local Police has gotten accustomed to us hogging the place on Sunday mornings. Years ago, they would had chased us away forcing us to park in proper designated parking lots. Now, they just allowed us to park anywhere as long as there a lane for normal traffic.
