Fadil threw a
surprise by inviting us to Triang too see his nearly completed bungalow. To
add anticipation to the ride, his mom-in-law-to-be would cook her famous
beef rendang. Yummy !! We later learned that the sweet lady we met would be
Fadil’s 3rd wife . What a lucky man! Most would find it great difficulty to
have a wive, let alone three. Actually, we were planning the weekend
ride to Port Dickson as Fadzil (not Fadil) wanted a relaxed ride to goof the
Sunday off.
(can't
report the wrong Fadzil having 3 wives ..hehehe)
Sam surprised
everyone by bringing his wife along for the ride. Zain, as usual, was the
last to arrive at the double Shell station. Perhaps, another difficult
morning round at the loo. Oonta came to greet us and flag us off in his
Arabic garb. Guess he isn’t ready to ride yet again.

It
was nice to have Fadil leading the pack. Our fearless marshall practically
shoo(ed) off traffic hogging the fast lane. The sun was blazing in full
glory as we zipped along the Karak Expressway. We started the journey a
little late than the usual at about 945am to catch an early lunch in
Termeloh. Termeloh is famous for its fresh patin fish. Patin, or better
known as silver catfish is a type of freshwater fish found in Sungai Pahang.
Alas, we did not get the chance to sample the delicious fish as for some
reason, Fadil's sister restaurant was not opened. We stopped
to
refuel and refresh at downtown Termeloh before resuming our ride to Triang,
some 40 km away
Triang
is one town I never been to in my life. We were cruising along the main
trunk road when we realised we were riding a tad too slow as the main pack
lead by Fadil was no where in sight. Phang, Fadzil, Mr GIG and myself were
lost somewhere along the trunk road to Bera. Unfortunately Fadil's house is
in one of the FELDA settlements and we had no clue as in where to turn
in from the main road. We decided to ride into Triang main town to wait out
for Fadil to lead us back into the main group. Perhaps I didn’t get my patin
fish lunch in Termeloh or I was looking forward to Fadil’s mom-in-law
rendang, my stomach was literally begging ‘feed me!" I was that hungry.
When we arrived
at Fadil’s new bride's house, they were already waiting for us with cool
drinks. We couldn’t asked for any better hospitality. And yes, the beef
rendang was way beyond superb. Dan was seen munching away non-stop with most
of us having double and triple helpings.

We
bade Fadil’s in-law family farewell to resume our short ride to Fadil’s new
home constructed for his new bride. The new house would be ready for the big
wedding next month.
We resumed our
ride back to KL via the trunk roads. Triang is actually already pretty close
to Kuala Klawang and we took the lesser traveled B-roads instead of turning
back to Karak Highway. . We scrambled to put on our rain suits as the
glorious sunny day turned 180 degrees in a flash. The follow-up 180 odd
kilometers ride back to Kuala Lumpur was littered with on-off rain.
We
stopped at the Lenggeng-Seremban-Kuala Klawang junction road side stall for
drinks and light food. My 40 buckaroos china-made rain suit’s protection was
totally breached as my jacket and pants were wet. Sam’s wife had a miserable
maiden ride. Perhaps, she was not used to the idea of riding whole day in
contrasting weather. The rest ? We wouldn't blink twice given we get that
delicious beef rendang again.
