I have not ridden on that road for a while and it felt good working out the bike over the endless bends and curves. It our version of Deal’s Gap in US. Perhaps a better ‘Gap’ because it is always deserted over weekends and we do not have over-zealous police patrols. Talking about policing the road, the locals on kapchais ride without wearing any protective helmets. We arrived at Kuala Klawang fairly early as we did not make any stops along the way. As usual, we had our breakfast at bikers friendly Restoran Fatimah. Looking through the mirror of history, Kuala Klawang is the site of a memorial to signify a co-operative effort by the Malays, Javanese, Chinese, Indians, Eurasians and aborigines as a symbol of their loyalty to the British under the sovereign of Her Royal Highness, the Queen of England. The fact is that it is built on Bukit Undang, it is a symbol of loyalty to the British Empire and located near it are traces of Japanese occupation. The combination of this three elements testifies the importance of the Kuala Klawang memorial in Negeri Sembilan history. We continued our ride to Lenggeng. The new ‘road’ just after Jeram Toi was nicely constructed for fast paced riding. Too bad it was only a short road and before long we rejoined back to the old patchy trunk road to Seremban/Lenggeng. We had another quick stop over for iced chendol. The road side stall located just after the K Klawang/Seremban-Lenggeng turnoff is manned by a lone friendly machik. Resting under a cool hut amidst green surroundings whist seeping iced chendol on a hot Sunday morning is priceless. Even more so when our bikes were parked nearby. riders in the Sunday ride: Rashid, Ivan, Phang, Ivan @ Mohan and yours truly
