An hour passed quickly and with no solution in sight, Ivan decided to rent a truck to haul his bike back to KL. They managed isolate probable cause to a broken alternator. With Ivan out of the ride, Mohan and Azmil pressed on to rendezvous with us at Gua Musang.

Meanwhile, we decided to have lunch at the stall. Turned out the nasi kukus with fried chicken and curry rendang were way too good. So it was not surprising to see crowds thronging IRDINA NASI KUKUS non stop. Never ever judge the contents by the cover.

IM finally returned with a big relieve on his face. He managed to find a shop to seal the gaping hole in the absorber’s main unit. However, the rear shock was a goner which IM would need to ride the bike as smooth as possible.

We were getting anxious to restart the ride after waiting at the cafe for almost 2 hours for Mohan and Azmil. Apparently, Azmil’ CBR could not re-start after he stopped by the road side to call us for direction. Mohan was visibly looking pale and tired when we arrived to help.  We managed to push start the bike to allow Azmi to ride on to find a workshop to fix the problem. Later, IM managed to trace the problem to a loose relay-starter connection.

We were about to resume the ride to Cameron Highland when Phang’s GS developed a petrol leak. Apparently, the burly GS suffered a broken fuel hose sending IM scrambling again to a hardware shop to get some DIY parts to patch up the leaky fuel hose. They managed to splice up hose and re-joined the now two hoses with a copper tube. A pure coincidence or just poor luck to have all the four Brit-American-Tobbaco guys’ bikes encountering odd mechanical problems. Mohan, the lone Japan-Tobacco-Int rep was smirking away proving the green gremlins really hate Dunhills. Before the ride, the four BAT guys were talking trouncing an outnumbered JTI guy.

It was already about past 4pm when we finally get to resume the journey. Thankfully, the weather was still very good with no hint of hash late afternoon sun nor the usual threatening dark clouds. The ride to Kg Raya was good with Anne slowly getting the hang of riding as pillion. As for the rest of the guys, they finally clicked riding as a group.

We arrived Tanah Rata shortly after 6pm. It was an unanimous decision to fill up our bio-fuel cells before checking into the apartment. It was nice to plonk 100% pure Cameronian teh tarik after a hard day on the road. Meanwhile, Zain with Dan were in Sg Pulai resting at Dan’s mom house.
