Bentong Sunday Ride

12 Aug 2007

Deng aka Batman showed up in a cool black out Honda Varadero decked with Hepco& Becker bits. David would be very jealous and his current Honda AX1 would look puny if parked next to the bigger sibling.

The morning weather was crisp. Perfect for a Sunday ride. A total of eleven bikers and one pillion showed up for the ride to Chamang waterfalls in Bentong. Bentong is both a town and a district in Pahang, Malaysia. The district covers an area of 1,831 kmē. It is located northeast of Kuala Lumpur, just across the main range, the Titiwangsa Mountains where the popular Chamang waterfall is located. There are two ways to get to Bentong. The easiest and fastest way is to spring into Karak Highway. Traffic was reasonably light in the morning. However, an earlier shower made the road a little wet and slick for my liking. The fast ones ie Mohan, Fadzil and Deng were no where in sight shortly hopping into main highway while the Wild Hogs bunch slowly rumbled through.

We arrived Chamang Waterfall fairly early in the morning. To most, it was their first visit to the popular Bentong picnic spot. Fadzil, Rashid and myself decided to hop into the icy cool water while Mohan and his gang decided to press on to Frasier. Deng choosed to stay dry to keep taps on our belongings.

We had a quick lunch in Bentong before making the ride back to KL. The second and most attracting KL-Bentong route is the old Bentong-Gombak road. The remaining four of us has a good time riding through the 70 odd kms of twisty single carriageway backroad
