"SMS" from God ... Ahmad replied to my mobile. He was referring to the on-going rain on Friday. We proceeded with our weekend ride with a route change. Our original goal was to cover over 300 km of road from KL to Genting to Batang Kali to Tanjung Malim to Sekinchan to Kuala Selangor to Klang to Bagan Lalang for dinner and back to KL from there ..

It was already drizzling before we even reached our meet-up point at BhP Station along Karak Highway. Mohan was already there waiting when we arrived. The weather wasn’t looking good and we reckoned it would probably rain the rest of the day.

We had to turn into Petronas for a quick change into rain suits. The breakfast served at Petronas was decent saved for the exorbitant price. I never eaten such an expensive nasi lemak. Three bucks for plain rice and another one fifty for plain fried egg. Everything was charged accordingly .. no freebies.

We reached Karak town with the sky still threatening to blow up. Since the opening of the East West Expressway to Kuantan, Karak town has been pretty quiet with much reduced traffic. We exit into Route 9 to Simpang Pertang. Light drizzle greeted us as we rode cautiously to avoid badly worn patches and loose gravels. Mohan’s tale of a fallen fellow biker at Ulu Yam a week ago did an excellent job of retarding our usual riding speed.
