Rashid went straight to a bike shop to
get his bike repaired while we refreshed ourselves at a local petrol station.
The Singapore-mari bikers who graciously stopped to offer help when we were
at the roadside making emergency repairs came in as well to refuel their
bikes
In the
meantime, Rashid’s in-laws kept our home-cooked lunch ready.
We were treated to a superb late lunch by Rashid's
sister-in-law. I was very grateful to them for the warm hospitality offered.
And yeah, we woke up the entire Desa Sri Delima neighbourhood with our loud
presence.
Not sure it was as good idea to feed the body with
so much food before the return ride back to Brinchang. Then again, it was
difficult to turn good delicious food away.
Thankfully, the added weight from the
tons of food I gobbled did not affect the bike’s handling. The ride back was
equally a bliss saved for the reduced concentration on the road (too much
food ?). The route (Gua Musang to Kg Raja) was what I consider still the
best motobiking road to experience in Malaysia. Too bad that the Malaysian
Government or the Tourism Board did nothing to promote this sort of tourism
in Malaysia. The best way to see and enjoy the country is still on two
wheels, period. Maybe they have too much stigma with Mat Rempits that
anything to do with two wheels are considered not appropriate,.. What a
waste.
We
arrived in Brinchang just before dusk. Phang who looked visible sleepy was
extremely erratic in riding speeds. The
surprise package was Sam who usually would be very tired by then as he was
used to taking late afternoon power naps. I was
in fact pretty perked up from the tarmac diet on two wheels.
Physically tired yes, but mentally refreshed.
Mala gave us an upgrade to the penthouse unit at Villa
Dahlia. Five rooms for five of us. Perfect. Too bad, Mohan had to make an
unscheduled u-turn back home at Sg Pulai earlier in the morning when his
wife called in with news that his son was running with a bad case of viral
infection.
