KL to Batu Pahat Day 1

23 - 24 Mar 06

Adventure generally resides in Bagsters' blood. We had this trip planned months ago. Our goal was to cover at least half of lower Malaysia on B roads. With only a handful (three actually) days to burn, we planned quite a numbers of towns and seldom visited destinations to visit. Phang and Ivan did a wonderful homework on where to stop.

Our usual stop if we go south

Passing through Parit Sulong some 20 odd km before reaching Batu Pahat

a very unique mile-stone..showing zero km to Minyak Beku

I wanted to go back to my hometown, Batu Pahat as I haven't riden a bike there since 1985. Even with a target, we, Phang, Ivan and yours truly, decided to take the journey easy with no specific timeframe. Our bums and back would be our indicators on when and where to stop. Unta would be very proud

Minyak Beku is actually a beach very popular with courting couples. It is also a very popular landing spot for Indon illegal immigrants

Our first destination stop was Batu Pahat. I have to admit it was kinda of nostalgic to ride through BP town and stop at my old high school. I got the gang to ride with me to Minyak Beku to learn how Batu Pahat got its name..  (click here for more info)
